The Abe Torchinsky ICSOM Emeritus Program was established in 1983 upon the suggestion of Abe Torchinsky, former member of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He served as administrator of the ICSOM Emeritus Program from 1983 to 2003. The program is now administered by Mary Plaine, of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Under the Abe Torchinsky ICSOM Emeritus program, musicians who have reached age 60 and who have retired from full-time active orchestra playing with at least 10 years of service in ICSOM orchestras are eligible to receive complimentary copies of Senza Sordino and the ICSOM Directory and to be listed in the directory if they wish.
ICSOM delegates are asked to provide eligible musicians who have retired from their orchestras with Abe Torchinsky ICSOM Emeritus application forms. Form is available here.
