Paul Gunther, Member at Large

Trained in percussion since age 7, first with retired Boston Symphony Percussionist Lawrence White, then with the late Jack Moore, former Minnesota Orchestra Timpanist, Paul Gunther performed for two years in the 423rd U.S. Army Band before his honorable discharge as a conscientious objector.

Joining the Minnesota Orchestra Library staff in 1975, Paul worked first as Assistant Librarian with his Minnesota Orchestra Librarian predecessors, John Tafoya and James Berdahl. Taking a quick eight-year break from Minnesota in the role of chief librarian for the Milwaukee Symphony, Paul returned in 1986 as Minnesota Orchestra Principal Librarian.
