Laura Ross, Secretary

Laura Ross has served as ICSOM Secretary since 2002, the first officer to hold the same position in two Player Conferences (served as ROPA Secretary from 1994-2000.) A member of the ICSOM Electronic Media Committee since 2000, she previously served as ROPA member-at-large from 1991-94 and chair of the ROPA Electronic Media Committee from 1989-2000.

Laura joined the Nashville Symphony violin section in 1984. Born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan; prior to moving to Nashville, she was a member of the Toledo Symphony, the Flint Symphony, the Windsor (Canada) Symphony, and she holds bachelor and master of music degrees in violin performance from the University of Michigan. Laura is a core member of Music City Baroque, a historically informed performance chamber ensemble in Nashville.

From 1995-2019, Laura served as Nashville Symphony Union Steward. Since 2000, she has served on the Executive Board of the Nashville Musicians Association, Local 257 and as Local 257's AFM Convention Delegate. She has served on AFM convention committees, was a member of the AFM Public Relations Task Force and the AFM Restructure Committee. She also works part-time at Local 257. In August 2010, Laura was appointed as a rank and file Union Trustee on the American Federation of Musicians and Employers' Pension Fund (AFM-EPF).
